4. Streetdance&HipHop-Contest “+phat_skillz//dance”

October 2009, Theater Pfalzbau – It’s almost impossible to breathe, the crowd in the sold out hall feels the excitement and there is enthusiastic clapping as Ludwigshafen stages, for the third time, the international Streedance&HipHop Contest +phat_skillz//dance. These were unforgettable moments for the artists, the audience, the jury and other guests. It wasn’t just the fantastic competition. The communal Good-Bye-Party, which took place at the same time, with participants of the Modern Dance Competition, was also very memorable. Borders between dance styles, cultures, ages, countries and nationalities disappeared because of the lingua franca “Dance”. A very special East-West-North-South-World-Dance-Party! Enough reasons to do it a fourth time. The Theater Pfalzbau Ludwigshafen will stage, on the 9th of October 2010, the 4th international Streedance&HipHop Contest – and we would love to see you participating. Join the fun and excitement!

A jury will select around 16 choreographers from all the international applications for +phat_skillz//dance. The jury will comprise famous hiphop-stars who will choose the three winners. The decisive criteria for participants include: originality of the choreography, imaginative movements, musicality, quality of dance and technique, dynamism and homogeneity of the group. If you are at least 16 years old and have developed a choreography for a group of three to ten dancers, don’t hesitate—just apply.
